reflect, reflect
my hollow heart
in fields of hot
and yellow death
look out, look out
upon decay
and swallow lumps
of silent calm
we’re two, we’re two
half living parts
that drink in dust
and bow our heads
we’ll crack we’ll crack
but never break
just hang in dusk
for all is lost

Pull fire from your face till you’re boarded and blue
with eyes dark as stone
stiff
and icy to touch
though melodies spout from your heart
red and true
be quiet as moonlight
for songs strip you bare

Oh
Bright Blue Nakedness of morning
How you mock me
with your brittle grin.
Life is cold
And truth is dead
but still you hang above
with love and peace beyond our reach

Shine upon my heart and hands
fill my veins with strength divine
give me bright and blinding light
that paints the truth upon my skin

You and I can fly like crows
through salted air
and sleeping smoke
nights will welcome
all our pecking
come away
please come away
