His fingertips
made numb by the chills of solitude
reach out
to feel her body writhe.
She is a cold, wet snake under his touch,
slick and yielding like clay.
Whispers in the stale air agree
that she is a decaying wretch.
Still,
he seeks her spoiled heart
and her cloudy eyes
to save him from seclusion.

A piece of Morning dove in
to splash my chest with fresh sea salt.
I ran my naked fingers over her
belly
swollen with rainwater
but soft,
for she was cloaked
in wispy cotton
clouds
and flecks of broken sun.
My head was plain
before today,
but its flame has been rekindled.
For she will forever
wriggle playfully between the dips in my knees
spreading sunshine over
my brown bones

The maiden has an appetite
for the sour fog
of stolen love.
For those
sickly, amber winds that
chide her bare heart
and
make her feel crooked
in the knotted night
where she dreams,
restless
and alone

Birds in heaven
twinkle with every blink
of her mind’s eye
their luminous bodies
drift into
murky dreams
and rinse away
the filth of fear
so that her visions may rise

She looks sweet
but she’s rotten to the core.

I’ve noticed an increase in exploding heads
It is
alarming but pleasant
like the scent of wild cherry wood
smoldering as the sky dims.
They are the walking end
soothing visions of relief
and loss
with
no eyes to see
no mouths to scream.
Just the fluffy, white bushels of smoke left behind
after a barrage of intensities
too powerful for men
to withstand.

Our mother
was
split in two by the thunderous rattle
of new worlds coming forth.
They pushed through her
and emerged with bright expressions.
New minds flooded with milky dreams
of power
Now, she floats in a blissful sleep,
forever drained of
vigor
and strength
but delighted
by the sound of young chests, pulsing with new life
around her
in an orbit
of her own creation
