The Storm

halfaface

emerald castles torn from earth

thrash above us

violently

beasts and belles

 together fly

like sparrows

in her rageful eye

 though mother’s  mouth

is strong as steal

it wilts and dies

like you and I

when things come down

we’ll rest with her

in satin sheets

so tenderly

The Body

ladyinblue

onyx fingers curl

and stretch

through stone and steal

through blood and death

heaven glows in all of her

the sky below

the sea above

coming slowly

like the daylight

orange, red, and yellow flow

all is brilliant

like the morning

worn but strong in clouds of silk

Jealous Sea

jealousesea2

the sherbet sky burns over the bruised mountains below

while the jealous sea thrashes about frantically

with watchful swollen eyes

and tired blood that no longer has strength to flood

legs stand

flacid arms fall

faint memories of when we

we were once able

to embrace it all
